Just a little update from Lizzie! "I have spent the past two months recovering from heartworm treatment (I'm HW Free! YAY!), getting xrays and really settling in and getting comfortable. I don't get on the furniture.. Oh yea, wait...I did get caught snoozing on the futon. "Mom" told me "off" which I of course did promptly. Later she put an old sheet over the futon, looked at me and said, "go ahead...be comfy." Do I have her wrapped around my paw or what?! I got a blueberry muffin off the edge of the table once-it was delicious. What was I supposed to do? ignore it???? (She doesn't know about that, so shhh!) I really would like my own forever home, please let my foster mom know if you may be interested in me" Love, Lizzie :) Hi! My name is Lizzie and I'm from South Carolina. Can y'all tell ?! A LOT of people helped me get to NY to BDBH. I wasn't given heartworm preventative so, yep, you guessed it; I tested positive for heartworms. I've spent the last two months having x-rays, taking pills, and getting injections to get rid of the nasty things. I am a beautiful sable German Shepherd; almost four years old and I weigh about 65 pounds. I don't like to be confined (i.e crated) but I don't need to be as I am very well behaved girl in the house! I am perfectly housebroken, don't chew on anything inappropriate and don't get on furniture. I love when my foster mom pets,hugs,kisses,brushes and walks me. She says things like "come sit, down, shake, take, give, heel, OK and my favorite--goooooood girl!" I enjoy lounging in "my" back yard watching squirrels, rabbits and birds and having neighbors come over to give me a treat. I have a treat ball inside that is fun to roll around and chase. My foster mom says it's the closest thing to a toy that I understand but all I care about is that yummy treats come out of it! When my foster mom comes home from work I do a happy dance and she laughs. I guess she likes it!! Maybe I can do a happy dance for you! I do promise I will but you have to promise to pet, hug and kiss me!
