Description
Shelby is a spayed female who is 1 years old, appears to be fully grown and weighs approximately 50 pounds. We believe she is a mix of German Shepherd and Basset Hound. She is up to date on vaccinations until 2010, is fully housetrained and has a beautiful shiny coat. Shelby loves to go for walks, play ball and get many, many belly rubs. She is full of puppy energy and exuberance, so she would do best in a home with a large fenced yard where she can run freely. She only barks at appropriate times..like when someone comes to the door.otherwise, she is quiet. She would do best in a home with other dogs or with owners that are home part of the day. She likes to be with people and have someone else in the home with her. Shelby can be protective when meeting new people, but she warms up with reassurance from her owner. Because she has a lot of energy, it is best to supervise her with small children as she may jump on them while trying to play. Shelby has completed an 8-week training program. She knows simple commands and learns new things quickly. She loves other dogs and would do well having another one in the home. A medium to large size dog would be recommended. Shelby does not like being crated/caged or locked in rooms. This may come from being caged at a shelter for so long. At her foster home, she is left out all day and night and has had no problems. Shelby has been dumped by people she has loved so she does have some separation anxiety..she is always at your side. She will need some patience while she learns her new owners arent going to dump her too!!!
